I imported my first two fauves into the US in November of 2001 from the elite Meignaniere lines breed by Louis Delommeau, who is internationally famous for breeding, training, hunting and showing them. I traveled to France to study under French hunting judges and had the assistance of three judges and the president of the Fauve Club of France in selecting our foundation stock. I had researched the breed, but seeing Fauves hunt and having the dogs curled up in my lap solidified my decision. It was love at first sight and I have never regretted the addition of Sprig and Sprite.
My first litter was whelped in July of 2003. Angelique, D'Arcy, Calamity, Clouseau, and Chase all have been shown in confirmation and have become UKC champions. Noel is currently being shown.
My brother and I acquired our first Wirehair in 1999. After placing well in conformation at the nationals in the puppy class and taking his first major, hunting season began. He proved to be such an excellent hunter for my brother that I could not get him back for the next several years. I acquired a female for him in 2005. She finished her championship in two weekends with two 5-point majors. Both dogs are excellent hunters, conformation champions, and all-around great companions.
I have over 35 years of experience showing in conformation & obedience, as well as training for search & rescue, assistance dogs for the disabled, and therapy dogs. In more recent years, my brother & I have begun to hunt rabbits, quail & pheasants together.
When it comes to quality dogs, we're keeping our nose clean!
